Filter The Love Songs Please!

Ok, so it is ture that we all love love songs. They speak the words that we can't always say, but why do some love songs have to be so filthy? I mean, I understand you are expressing love, but some of the stuff that's said, it can be said in a private matter. Let's be real, the world does not need to know you want to have sex with this person, it's evident that you love them just by your desperation in your song. Now, music can really have an impact for us singles. We can't just listen to anything because we know that our mind will go into a world of craziness, we have to learn how to keep our mind pure so we can preserve such thoughts for the spouses God will send to us.

Now, I love songs that simply reveal the elegance of love between a couple, but I don't need all the physicality and craziness. I think is good to honor marriage through song, not when your are not married and fooling around. I believe love songs are important and needed, especially in a state where divorces are at a high. Just be careful what is said, not everything is filtered, some of theses love songs are just straight dirty. Now, it is true that some artists may make clean love songs and explicit love songs. I know when I began to officially begin my song writing career as well as writing worship songs, I will be writing love songs too.  However, to give you a taste of what a true love song here is a artist I like by the name of Robin Thicke, "Sweetest Love". Now, I know not all of his songs are are clean, however, I admire his style and his incredible voice. Enjoy!

Who Are You Loving?

As a single person I am still learning about being patient within this time of waiting. I have been listening to videos of well known pastors speaking about the real meaning of marriage. A lot of us just want be in a relationship because we are lonely, not having a real goal or vision to want to be with the person. In addition, we are not even fully developed to be in a relationship, so like a baby being born too early, we go into a relationship prematurely. Not only that we even abuse the gift that God has giving us and have sex outside of marriage. WAIT! We need to learn to control ourselves and not let our bodies get the best of us. The more we love God, the more He satisfies. A preacher once said, "It's not safe sex, it's save sex".

Interracial Relationships

Since the thought of racism has been floating around lately, I would like to bring up the topic of interracial dating. How many people do you know will date outside of their race? Some people say they would, while some people say they would not. Personally, I would not mine myself if God blessed me with a young man outside of my race. I think it's beautiful to see two different worlds come together in love. Now, I am not bashing people who love their race, all I am saying is I would not be objective to dating a man who was not the same race as me. I believe God can bring any two people together. The point I am trying to make is many people look at interracial dating as a bad thing. I believe it is wonderful. For example, there is a beautiful interracial couple in my church, the wife is Africa-American while the husband is Caucasian. They look beautiful together! I just wish people didn't look at interracial relationships negatively, but rather look at it as a gift from God. Just because someone chose to date someone outside of their race does not mean they do not like their race. God may called them to be in a relationship with someone not of their race. Instead of looking at interracial relationships from a negative perspective, let's embrace the two hearts that God has bought together.
